Gravenailz Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Okay, before I begin; I know I screwed up so please do not remind me.Purchased new M/B, 3200+ 64, 200GB SATA.Couldn't boot from my XPsp2 disk. Booted into old IDE HD. Tried making bootable CD with CDImage. Ran the program, saw a short DOS screen apear, nothing happend (so I thought). Used Nero 6 to create a bootable Windows disk. I turned off the computer, unplugged the old HD, restart computer & somehow Caldera DR-DOS loads. Brings me to an A:\ prompt. I can hit F11 & select what media to boot from but when select my CD with the Windows boot disk it still goes into DOS. If I hook up my old IDE I can hit F11 & select to boot to it. If I don't select the IDE the computer boots to DOS. Please help me stop this DOS from loading. Thank you
Vadikan Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 CDImage can't take over your PC. Boot into your HDD, create the ISO per these instructions. Burn it on a CD, then reboot, get into BIOS and select CD-ROM as the first boot device. After reboot you should be able to boot from CD. And post your boot.ini just in case.
