As per the guide on this side it says put the $oem$ folder in the root directory, on the same level as i386, however other places, including the Microsoft guidelines say put this directory inside i386.

So, if I follow the Microsoft guidlines I get this message when running the initial winnt setup program;

C:\$\$1\installs\office~1\files\common\l&h\speech\1033\tts\tts3000

Otherwise if I put the $oem$ directory in the root i.e. C:\XPCD\$OEM$ the files dont get copied across!

What's going on ?

These guidelines are normally aimed at the network installations. Since you are uising the CD, you need to follow the MSFN guidelnes and MSFN members' experience. http://tinyurl.com/4z9jx
