Help finding an app to reprogram keyboard keys ?

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, so apologies if its the wrong place.

Basically I want to reprogram a key on my MS internet keyboard to enter hibernate. There is already a key for standby, so maybe its possible to reuse that key, if not maybe I could assign a script to a F key?

I looked at Sharpkeys but that does not allow me to do what I want.

Does anyone know any way to do this or know of any applications that will allow me to assign a script to an F key?

Thanks

Yes, you can do it.

You need something which will change the keyboard mappings/layout. There are a few things to be known:

1. Which windows version.

2. do you want a tool from MS or by a third-party utility.

3. Do you need it from the angle of a developer, or as a consumer.

Here are some links which will get you started:

1. You can use Remapkey.exe (Remap Windows Keyboard Layout) which is part of Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools - download details

2. The Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator - details

Hoping this helps....

Thanks for the reply.

I am not really worried about where it comes from, in fact I have looked at the The Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator, but I am running the Beta 2 .NET framework to support my development using VS Express and the MS KLC does not seem to like it :(

I will take a look at Remapkey though.

Thanks again.
