ran Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Alright,I'm very new at this myself...but let me give this a shot, and then the experts can correct me as need be... I believe that you need an XP Pro answer file (winnt.sif) if you wish to avoid all the user-interactive GUI's.If you don't have that winnt.sif file, then you'll have to enter all that info on each machine you install...It's actually quite easy to make the file, though. Took me 5 minutes, once I downloaded the XP SP2 deployment back and ran SetupMgr..... Ran
DaDarkDevil Posted October 7, 2004 Author Posted October 7, 2004 but do i have to input an serial number for windows xp corp or not??
Alanoll Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 YES!The ONLY difference between the VLK and RETAIL version of XP is that the VLK does not need activation. The keys are different so you can't use a RETAIL key on a VLK CD.
