Here is the problem we are having. We have all pc's setup so that Automatic Updates are disabled in the System Settings. We didn't stop the service though. All of a sudden this week we noticed that our internet was slowing down. We don't have SP2 installed on our pc's either. Come to find out that the pc's in the labs are downloading SP2, even though Automatic Updates was set to never in the System settings. Does anyone know why this is doing this? Is it because the service is still running? And is there a way without having to hit every pc in all the labs that we can disable this service? Thanks!

I had switched on the auto update. Since then, update.exe starts up each an every time and hogs up approx. 50% of the CPU. When I examine the performance, the CPU is at the max amount. I have tried to re-set the settings so that it does not check for updates. That has not had any effect. Could someone please let me know how I can switch this bugger off? How do I cancel the incoming connection?

Cheers,

Cheers,

update.exe is not a Windows service file for Automatic Updates...
