Bastian_W Posted October 7, 2004 Share Posted October 7, 2004 Hello...does anybody know if I can configuring the SNMP via an unattended setup?I will configuring the following things: - allow read access from...- use hostnames in configuration, not IP adresses...- disallow read access from any other host (excepions apply)...- set the following trap receiver hosts..- set trap community = public...- enable option "Send authentication trap" in tab "Security"...- change snmp read community string and read/write community string to non standard value...- send a mail containing this information (community strings, hostname) to.... RogueSpear Posted October 7, 2004 Share Posted October 7, 2004 If memory serves me right, you can set the community names / access and the trap destination through the registry.The e-mail part I think you'd want to set on the server side of things and doing that via registry is something I'm not familiar with. To get all of the proper registry keys you could open up the ADM files (located in the inf directory) with notepad and do a search for "SNMP".There will even be explanations about each registry setting, albeit not very helpful ones. Consult the Microsoft Windows 2000 Guide to Unattended Setup.doc or the ref.chm help file. Both are found in the deploy.cab located in the Support Tools directory of your source CD depending on which OS you are installing.The parameters and settings are documented in these files.tguy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
