websee Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 normally you see items likeMy Recent DocumentsDesktopMy DocumentsMy ComputerMy Networkon the left of the "Save as.." dialog. i never use My Recent Documents and My Network. is there a way to change them into something i use more often liek D:\Archives or whatever?
prathapml Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Yes, there is a way:Use Xteq's X-Setup Pro.It has this thing listed (its a registry action), amongst many others. Just tell it to "record" the actions made, and you have the required .REG before you.
benners Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Goto start then select run and type gpedit.msc.Under User Configuration, Administative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Explorer, Common Open File Dialog you can set a policy for "Items displayed in Places Bar" for 5 items. Then when you are finished you can export [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Comdlg32\Placesbar]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy Objects\LocalUser\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\comdlg32\Placesbar and import them in an unattended install.
