September 23, 200421 yr Can Someone please help me i have office 2003 in my unattended disk, what i i want to do is install the sp1 at the same time but not in a slipstream can this be done and if so what are the switchs. With ThanksPaulData0002P.S. does anyone know the reg code for letting a wireless card connect to any wireless network point. Thanks
September 25, 200421 yr It's better that you get SP1 slipstreamed into your original installer, then do the unattended installation.Doing so you will not need additional switches or commands. It works with me at least
September 25, 200421 yr Plus It would really be a waste of space otherwise and take longer to install.
September 25, 200421 yr Unpack your servicepack to a folder named svcpack in the same folder that you have the files folder of office 2003.Then go to the folder files\setup and add this after the [Product] section in the file setup.ini[ChainedInstall_1]TaskName=ServicePack 1TaskType=exePath=FILES\SVCPACK\OHotFix.exeexample:[Product]ProductCode=XXXProductName=Microsoft Office 2003ProductVersion=XXXRecache=1[ChainedInstall_1]TaskName=ServicePack 1TaskType=exePath=FILES\SVCPACK\OHotFix.exe[MST]...This will install Servicepack1 after the install of Office...You MUST label the cd/dvd 'office2003patch', otherwise it won't work. But as the above post, it will take much longer to install.
September 25, 200421 yr Author Thanks for the replys it doesn't matter how long it takes to install as i allways do an reinstall over night when the pc is not in use. if i slipstream sp1 can i still do office updates, because with office xp i couldn't without re slipstream.ThanksPaul
September 25, 200421 yr This is how I did it. Slipstreaming method gave me some weird errors In RunOnceEx.cmdREG ADD %KEY%\000 /VE /D "Office 2003 Professional and SP1" /f REM WorkingREG ADD %KEY%\000 /V 1 /D "%SystemDrive%\Install\Applications\Office2003\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb-" /fREG ADD %KEY%\000 /V 2 /D "%SystemDrive%\Install\Updates\Office2003\Office2003SP1-kb842532-fullfile-enu.exe /Q" /f
October 1, 200421 yr I noticed that after I run the office customized installation tool, all the files that I don't need for installation(eg. powerpoint, access, outlook) are still in my cd image. Is there a way to trim it down so I only have Word and Excel? Thanks.
