Strange Prob Explorer Sp2

When i upgrade windows XP with SP2 i end up with a strange problem.

The informationbar on top of the i-net explorer screen don't show up.

So every time when i need to let a pop-up go thru, for instance install a update of nero or a langauge pack explorer freeze and hangs.

I have treid the register chance from M$ to install i-net explorer again, but everytime i end up with the message that the current i-net explorer is newer then the 1 i want to install even the newest downloaded version of M$ itself.

does anyone know a solution for this problem or do just have to do a clean install with a slipstreamd XPSP2
