overkill Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Hi, I am new to this forum. I kind of looked over the forum and couldn't find an answer to my question. I hope I am not "beating a dead horse" but I was wandering if anywone know this. After doing a SP2 upgrade, now when we print we get a bubble down by our clocks that give all of the printing information while its printing. This is really annoying to our users. Does anybody have a clue how to stop this? Thanks in advance Mike
N1K Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 After installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2, a balloon window is displayed every time a print job is sent to a networked printer informing the user that the job has been spooled succesfully. If you want wish to disable this option do the folowing:Run registry editor and navigate to this key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\SettingsChange the value with the following details:Data Type: DWORDValue Name: EnableBalloonNotificationsRemoteValue: 0Stop and restart the spooler service for the change to take effect
