well i'm having some issues that i see some people have using nlite:

i've created a new partition named L: (6gb of fat32), and i tried to start the installation from the HD so i used this batch:

@echo off
L:\XPCD\I386\winnt32.exe /s:L:\XPCD\I386 /unattend:L:\XPCD\I386\Winnt.sif
exit

setup loads but after a time it says that it can find access.cpl file (i removed it from the installation using nLite), i've done some search and i see that latest version has a little bug...

As I've reported before, when trying to do a manual install from harddisk setup begins to ask for all the files belonging to the items I've nLited away. Even if I only remove notepad, then setup asks for it. This also applies to drivers.
... from here. so how can i manage it? maybe using 0.98.7b2? but that version does not include some of the components that i want to remove... so i decided to make the test with a CDRW and i added to removal components the "manual installation".

first step of installation goes perfect; i've got a SATA drive and i slipstreamed the drivers so my drive and partitons are detected (C: it's primary XP in ntfs so i choose my drive L: on fat32) :thumbup

then the second reboot, after a few seconds it shows the "can't find hal.dll error" so i rebooted and edited my boot.ini (i saw that the correct partition it's not the one selected by default so i did the change) next reboot ... ntoskrnl it's shown and after a few seconds... BSOD! error it's 0x00000007

i don't know what caused it but the thing it's that after i used my other system (C: it's 98se fat32), and all the installation goes perfect :crazy:

... so any ideas?

PS: i think this is the correct section of the forum because first issue it's with nlite but i don't know what have caused the BSOD :}

Well, I think this maybe an nlite issue.

mmm i think i've got it (not sure).

if you try to install from the HD, the installation tries to copy all the files from the i386 folders so you'll have a lot of errors about the components removed by nlite (files are removed but i think entries from dosnet.inf not so installation can not find them). this can be solved omitting the files and installation will continue.

about the second error i can't locate the cause, i don't know why the installation select that partition.

about the third i guess... i've slipstreamed my sata drivers but the controller, in this case Si3112r.sys it's not copied to the correct partition so it's probably that setup can't load the controller and that's the key for the BSOD (correction it's 0x0000007B error). i'm still working at it... :sneaky:
