unattended install from XP upgrade CD?

Featured Replies

I have followed all the guides and what I end up with is the following error...

Is there any way to get around this?

This is a retail version of the XP upgrade. I would much rather use it for my unattended than deal with the "crack"ing involved after putting the service packs on.

yes i did and i've checked all the posts about the setupp.ini file and still having the same problem. I've given up at this point unless someone has a brilliant idea that has not been discussed here.

purchase a retail version of xp or get a corp license

ummm I dont think that has anything to do with the Corporate version. Im not exactly sure myself, but where does it suggest anything having to do with it? All it speaks of is upgrade version.

he owns a windows xp *upgrade* cd. in the TERMS OF AGREEMENT, he must have a retail version of windows 98 or 2000 to be able to upgrade to XP.

legally speaking he should and must not (alter) HACK the upgrade cd to be able install XP with out the specified operating system.

I can post the legal agreement of microsoft if you wish.

In my opinion you can go to Office Depot, Kmart, Walmart, Compusa,

Circuit City in your local area and pick one up. Or order online which

is cheaper.

any mention of cracking or hack the moderator will have this thread closed.

good luck

Oh wow thanks for informing me, i know something of that sort would be illegal, but i didnt even have any idea it was even POSSIBLE to convert an upgrade -> full.

it is possible. I actually read something on it from a different forum.

I dont think Cyber.TF wants to hack his upgrade cd.

he is just uninformed.
