debb Posted September 3, 2004 Posted September 3, 2004 HelloI have a new hp window xp home edition computer 2.60 GHz, 512 mb, 160 GB desk top. I have been having an error problem that seems not too common and would like some help. I have been working on things to rule out but no luck so far. This is the errorTCP/IP checking network protocol reported error 1450. Insufficient system resource exist to complete the requested services.Worked with my internet services and did everything possible with them, next called hp and they sent me a new modem that didn't resolve it. I have a friend trying to help me and he installed a second new modem that didn't help either. I just uninstalled my sygate firewall to see it that makes a difference that’s still pending. Next I might upgrade to service pack 2 to see if that helps. One more thing monitor new, tower was floor model this was a gift not from my same state and store claims it was never online I don't know if that makes a differenceWhat happens is after I leave my computer on but disconnected for over night say I try in the morning to connect and that’s when I received the error but when I reboot I can get connected it works every time I reboot.Anyone have an idea what could be causing this or what I can do to.Thanksdebb

"It does not seem to me that it is a memory problems, seems you have enough for that. My first guess is that windows is not finding the network card or modem or something else durring boot up is using up resouces that are needed for your intended work.It could be that the computer is not finding the tcp/ip connection which would be modem or network card related. This is very strange to me, have you checked all system settings for the modem or network card? If your on a local area network (such as cable or dsl) and it looses the dhcp server, it might not find it again till reboot. That could well be the resource it is looking for and cannot find. You might try fixing the tcp/ip connextion next time that happens and see if that works, which you can do by right clicking your mouse on the little icon below, kind of like two little tv's side by side and choose the option, repair and see if that helps. If you loose the network connection, that might be the error you get, but am not totally positive on that.Good luck now, I know this can be frustrating but keep with it.Dakota SunRunner
debb Posted September 3, 2004 Author Posted September 3, 2004 HelloThanks for replying and trying, I clicked but no repair option. I am not going to give up even if it takes me all year lol.I am using a dial up connection to not sure if that means much but worked with them and change everything possible to even installing my connection manually they said there nothing else they can do. I'm thinking of updating to SP2 fingers crossed. Thanksdebb
