annabel Posted September 3, 2004 Posted September 3, 2004 I nLited my xp cd without removing theme service, and the system is installed sucessfully and running well, but I cannot enable xp theme.I started theme service from service manager and select luna theme to apply but the error kept saying that the theme service wasn't started...Though actually I don't need this, my friends just like it and I'd like to find out why and how.
glent Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 I had the exact same problem I started over with a different soure CD and upgraded to a newer version of nlite.I had tried so many things and insatlled 10 or so times ..so i know how it feels
annabel Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 I had the exact same problem I started over with a different soure CD and upgraded to a newer version of nlite.I had tried so many things and insatlled 10 or so times ..so i know how it feels e^^^^^^^ After several tests, I found that if I let "Classic Theme" unchecked and "classic logon screen" unchecked, the xp theme will apply.Still I don't understand why I can't make it work through starting theme service, and the error was telling me that the service is not started. Is there some secret reg switches can affect theme service? I don't see any dependency of this service.Oh... We really need a rest.
