my 3rd harddrive e: has a folder named: MSOCache

the drive is a primary partition with no system files on it, no windows.

i just have it as a storage drive for tv episodes.

but from tim to time windows creates a folder named MSOCache with compressed cab files inside, whats the point with this folder, and is it really safe to delete?

You can prevent the creation of that folder (by Office 2003 install) by using an MS Installer property alongside other switches when you install it:

LOCALCACHE=0
