xtremexxx Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Hi I have a windows xp with sp2 integrated.I see a dir on the CD called cmpnentsIs that needed ? It was not on SP1 xpThankz
tak Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Nope. The folder just contains extra files for systems that run specialized versions of XP like TabletPC edition, I recall. And a semi-non-working .NET framework folder. It's safe to rip out if you don't want it.
Black-Wolf Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 It's not non-working.They are fully workable.Installable through the Autorun Menu.
tak Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 It's not non-working.They are fully workable.Installable through the Autorun Menu. No, netfx.cab = non-working, in the sense that it doesn't launch jack from the autorun menu. Which makes it (for most purposes) useless. The option in the Autorun menu requires the DOTNETFX folder in the root of your disc.
sleepnmojo Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 The netfx.cab file is used in the mediactr, and tabletpc versions on xp. They install framework 1.0. They are not used for the autorun. If you don't use those versions of xp, then delete them. There is a thread posted of how to use the netfx.cab file to install the framework, but it is pointless if you want 1.1.
