badandme Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Our business computer has crashed or something. We are getting a message saying...There is no extended memory driver loaded on your computer. And XMS manager not found. The windows page starts, but the desk top never loads, it just sits there. Is there a way we can get into our system and back up all our business files and programs? If anyone can help please let me know. Thank you.
prathapml Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Yes, try safe mode first, then try using a DOS boot-disk. Also, you could try a bartPE bootable disc, which gives a nice GUI.You haven't stated what OS you're trying to recover.

IcemanND Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 stick the drive in another machine as slave and copy the files off that way
