TerryG Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 I'm using a theme that doesn't show my user picture at the top of my start menu. Could anyone tell me what I have to edit to get it back? Thanks
msbhi22 Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 You might be using the classic interface (plain look) of windows. The way to get back is start > settings > taskbar & menu click on that menu bar.after invoking. Select startmenu tab from the box. click on startmenu radio button that's it.look at the pic.
TerryG Posted August 29, 2004 Author Posted August 29, 2004 Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not it.I downloaded this visual style. Since it doesn't show a user picture in that screenshot, I assumed it had been edit out somehow.
SiMoNsAyS Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 some themes remove your user account picture. there it's not much that u can do: change your theme or you'll need to edit the .msstyles file that comes with the theme...
TerryG Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 That's what I figured. Could anyone tell me what I have to edit to get it back?
SiMoNsAyS Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 you have to use StyleBuilder from TGTSoft to edit the theme or the manual method: edit with resource hacker the .msstyle file and then look for strings.sorry but i can't help u with the "thing" that u have 2 change to show it
TerryG Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 I've been digging around with reshack, and I've found a few strings that look promising. Thanks for your suggestions.
