tcsdoc
Totally lost on the txtsetup.sif stuff but read the threads and hope I haven't messed this up too much. I got a ShuttleX AMD64 computer with the VIA SATA/Raid chip (I think). I looked at Green Machine's thread and managed to get the information listed below to work on my unattended install with a Seagate 120gb SATA drive. My question is this: Since XP recognizes the drive and completes in installation with no problem does this mean I got the txtsetup.sif correct? I'm hoping there are no 'down the road' problems with the driver setup. Would anyone look this over and see if it needs correcting/improving?I followed Green Machine's guide and created the cab file, edited the winnt.sif file, and such but am only concerned if the txtsetup.sif is correct. Thanks for any assistance! [Edit:] I tried to download raiddrivers.rar but all the links were dead------------------ Placed at the bottom of the txtsetup.sif right before the eof---------[sourceDisksFiles] viasraid.sys = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1 [HardwareIdsDatabase] PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_31121095 = "viasraid" PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_34238086 = "viasraid" PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_311215D9 = "viasraid" PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_B0021458 = "viasraid" PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_01661028 = "viasraid" PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_82141033 = "viasraid" PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_35121095 = "viasraid" PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_01661028 = "viasraid" [sCSI.load] viasraid = viasraid.sys,4 [sCSI] viasraid = "VIA SATALink Controller"
GreenMachine
Look OK to me, with a quick glance. The syntax looks fine anyway, I assume the PCI values are correct. My version looks like this:[SCSI]VIASRAID = "XPCREATE VIASRAID SATA/RAID Driver." [SourceDisksFiles]VIASRAID.SYS = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 [SCSI.load]VIASRAID = VIASRAID.SYS,4 [HardwareIdsDatabase]PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149 = "VIASRAID"I doubt that "viasraid.sys = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1" makes a difference, but I am not sure ... tcsdoc
Thanks for the quick response. I'm going to try your code since it looks much cleaner. B)
