unattended networkinstallation(win XP)

I have a problem with a unattended networkinstallation of windows xp. I can start the installation via network but befor the installation begins to copy the files(before the centered statusbar comes up) the installation stops. I don´t know where my mistake is. I start the installation via winnt /s:"source directory" /u:"unattended.txt directory". The unattended.txt was created with the setupmgr.exe. I don´t know where to search for the mistake.

I hope somebody can help me !

do you just know this opportunity ?

It is not as easy as you think cause we have here a spezial server to install all the workstations with a spezial program. And so we need this "winnt /s:.... /u:....." - command.

Do you know something about this and how it works under XP ? There is something dofferent to Win2000 but I don´t know what.

I'm sorry I can't really understand your reply. There is another method you could try, it's called sysprep if all your workstations are identical in hardware you could use this option to create pre-configured hard drive images.

The sysrep/ method will not funktion because of so manz different workstations.

I try to explain what I wanted zpu to saz in mz last posting perhaps you will understand: We have here many different worstations with different hardware so we start the unattended installation with the winnt.exe and the option /s -> gives the unattended installation the source folder and /u -> for the unattended.txt folder. We need to start the installation this way. Now my question is if you know how to start the unattended installation correctly for win xp. With windows 2000 it was so: winnt /s:sorcefolder /u:unattended-file-folder but this doen=s realllz funktion under win xp.
