JoshT Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 After doing an unattended installation of XP Pro + slipstreamed SP2, if I go to add/remove Windows components, under Networking Services, there's a "Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client" which is part of UPnP/SSDP which I don't want. I use the winnt.sif on a floppy method. Shouldn't netoc=Off cause nothing to be installed, or do I have to set it to On and disable everything in [NetOptionalComponents]? And if so, which one is it, and what is the "Beacon" mentioned in the help file? Thanks,Josh[Components] freecell=Off minesweeper=Off pinball=Off solitaire=Off hearts=Off msnexplr=Off spider=Off zonegames=Off OEAccess=Off chat=Off media_clips=Off media_utopia=Off WMAccess=Off netoc=Off msmsgs=Off dialer=Off fax=Off
idle.newbie Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 [Components]netoc=On[NetOptionalComponents]beacon=0This will not install beacon.netoc=Off still install beacon. Check [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\Oc Manager\Subcomponents] beacon.
