XPCREATE Hangs

when running xpcreate it gets all the way through to merging hotfixes and then seems to stop even though it is still running in task manager

Attach either LOGFILES.CAB, found in NEWFILES, if it exists, or XPCREATE.LOG otherwise.

Here is the log file and i have shortended the hotfix filnames and that didn't fix the problem

Two "strange" issues:

First, the log file (XPCREATE.LOG) has been "restarted". Perhaps it was open in an editor and could not be deleted upon XPCREATE start.

Second, your whole CD is in SVC-DAS. This is indirectly causing the "hang" (see last line of log).

I don't understand how either of those issues could be produced on their own, and I do believe a clean XPCREATE install, without modifying XPCREATE.INI should work ... In any event, there is certainly a problem with the starting files.

xpcreate stops when trying to create a XP SP1 CD the log file attatched

Few questions:

1. Are you using the latest version of XPCREATE? Have you tried the "failsafe" build first?

2. Is this a original XP CD?

3. If not, has this already been customised & built before?

4. Is this a SP1a CD with SP1 trying to get integrated into it (or something similar)?

Just a few thoughts...
