Darth Vader Posted August 15, 2004 Share Posted August 15, 2004 Hi all, I'm a newbie here and not to clued up with networking issues. But here goes :I have 3 pc's running of switch. Computer A = XP Pro, SP1, ADSL usb modem.Computer B = XP Pro, SP2. DOTNET Computer C = XP Pro, SP2before installing SP2 on B,C I had full connectivity to and from all 3 pc's B,C could access internet and share files between each other.I installed SP2 on B ,C and after this I can only do the followingA,B,C can access internetB,C can access A and have full file sharingA cannot access B,C even though the computers show in network manager - Error message = You might not have permision to use this network resourceB+C also give same errors.I have firewall disabled for B+C pc'sSimple filesharing enabled (tried disabling it as well)Can some1 please help or post a link that explains a repair in laymans termsThanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

May be that the way SP2 defaulted the file/printer sharing, you were hosed because user accounts are different..Bring up a Explorer Window.Go to Tools -> Folder OptionsGo to the View TabScroll down to the bottom and click the check box next to Use Simple File SharingClick Apply.
