diskMETA fair desktop search engine

diskMETA is a great help for those who have realy huge amount of text-formatted data on their PCs, where it's impossible to search with standard Windows search function or a trivial scanner.

Indexed search accelerates data location essentialy, finding your search query immediately, even if you have hundreds of gigabytes to search in.

Building the index certainly takes time, as well as the reindexing if you create new files. Still, scheduling the reindexation, say, once a week you spare hours for everyday searches.

diskMETA not over-comlicated with “smart” features doing something they are not asked to, it's not self-teaching, it doesn't pretend to be a mind-reader – it just instantly finds fairly and exactly what you type in the query line, understanding the convential search operators, using intelligent web search algorithm, returning the results in ussual internet-style, with text portions, quotations, highlighting, etc.

Using diskMETA (both its free and commercial versions), you can search in txt, doc, xls, html, pdf, rtf, chm, zip, rar and in other user-defined formats like php, asp, xml, ect.

I don't want long descriptions, the program is maximally simple while having a giant capacity, just say that

- the search result presentation is like in Google,

- files are opened in corresponding applications and reconstructed,

- it's highly ACCURATE (it cretainly goes without saying)

System requirements: Windows 98 or higher.
