drayton_k
Hi,I have read that to have two firewalls on at the same time may cause problems. Now I have installed SP2 and all is working fine, but I also have Zone Alarm Pro AND a hardware firewall in my router. Which one/s are safe to turn off, or is it best to just leave well alone as all is working fine.ThanksDrayton
sleepnmojo
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.I personally only use the router, but I keep my network pretty clean. I don't run programs I don't know, so I'm not to worried.
needforspeed
I use Zone Alarm because it took a while for me to figure out how to configure the built in firewall and I still didn't like it. (Not using SP2 though).
Marsden
True Firewalls are hardware based... with stateful packet inspection, and can ONLY be configured once they are completely removed from your network. That means that all software firewalls don't meet those qualifications... meaning they are insecure by their very nature. If the software can be installed by a user, it can be uninstalled by a hacker...
