photoshop to quark problem

Hi everyone.

I have a problem. I am creating images in photoshop and saving them as TIFFs to later import them into Quark for a layout spread. When I place text over these images, I need the text to be the same color as certain elements of my images. I can't seem to match the colors, whether I input the CMYK values, or match Pantone colors, or anything. Neither on the screen or when I print. I'm sure there's something very basic here that I'm not aware of, but I need help!
