kaming Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 Hello I have installed Benq 40x12x48 cdrw writer and when I restart a wizard new hardware found.I used the recommended setting as in the default which it will find the driver, but it could not find the said driver. Although I have not installed the said driver I could used the writer like in the normal only in the Device manager the icon for the said writer is with a YELLOW icon. The popup says found new hardware for "Atapi CD-R/RW 4012" and going to find the software. Can anyone please help me out where can I download this driver I tried in Benq site and download the driver under 4012a and it seem is a flash tool (1JB the file I downloaded) and when I click the flash.exe it display my dvd writer but not my CD writer so I stop at this point to prevent any problems happening. Is it the right driver I am using, will there be problems of conflig with my DVD writer. Thanks
aresgodofwar Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 is this external or internal? and what is the model number? usually cdrw internal drives use the generic driver that xp has. the only thing you can download from the benq website is firmware upgrades and dos drivers, of which neither will help you. now if this is an external drive, then you might need drivers.
kaming Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 Thanks aresgodofwar it is a internal drive Model:4012A, Benq 40x12x48,I tried their site and download the firmware and when I flash it it say no driver for update. In my computer it show as Atapi cd-r/rw 40x12 but with a YELLOW exclamation mark. Can anyone help out it popup everytime when I start my computer saying "Found new hardware" and tried to install software for the mention. What am I going to do with it my driver for the cdrw writer have been lost other wise problems will not happen. Hoping further help on the way. Thanks again.
