Hey,

i just switched back to windows 2000 due to some major stability problems i've been having with XP.. and i have a question

in XP, i used to press the Windows key + L to lock the computer, and was wondering if there is some shortcut key of that type on win2k as well..

Thanks in advance,

Blackwar :)

I rolled back to Windows 2000 on my computer at work because of stability issues. I created a shortcut to lock my workstation and then setup a keyboard shortcut.

Here is what you need to do;

Right click your desktop, go to NEW > SHORTCUT

Then it will ask you to browse a location for the shortcut, just type in the following;

%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

Give your shortcut a name then click ok to finish. Double click the shortcut you just created and see if it locks your computer. If it works you can then assign keys to your shortcut by right clicking your newly created shortcut.

Best of luck.

Thanks,

that works flawlessly :)

the only thing i couldn't figure out was the shortcut key, i right clicked, then went to properties, there was a box named " shortcut key" , said "None" in it but i wasn't allowed to modify it for some reason...

Thanks bud :rolleyes:
