Hi,

Working for a group, I'm trying to avoid users doing things by themselves, and one thing I'm trying to do is to configure WMP 8 not to go on the Internet.

With the local policy, you can avoid it to downloads codecs automaticly, but there's still onething i want to stop, but cannot find any solution ... I don't want it to display the multimedia homepage when you start it. Ok, you can untick the option, but users can still tick it, going to the Options panel... In a way i want the option to be grayed, or to disappear...

Is that possible ???

Thanks !

I'm not aware of anyway to make only that specific option passive (greyed-out). But you can enable the option you want and then entirely disable the "Options" box for WMP - since, as an Admin you can go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer] in the registry if you want to configure any settings manually.

To disable usage of "options" in WMP, run "gpedit.msc" (after logging-in as the user whose settings you want to modify) and browse to:

[user Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> Windows Components >> Windows Media Player >> User Interface]
