RichTJ99
Hi,I am using the VMWare workstation to test my unattended install. I am also using the soundpack drivers from this site. I have an Audigy 2 in my system (that driver is in the driverpack) but the VMWare workstation seems to think that it is an "Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373)(WDM) device instead of the audigy 2.Any ideas what is causing that? Or how to fix it? I thought the audio from the workstation came from the host machine. Thanks,Rich
drmarvin
VMWare is not aware of the actual sound card you have. VMWare emulates the Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373)(WDM) so you can't really test your Audigy 2 drivers in VMWare. Same with video and NIC.Hope this helps. RichTJ99
Yep, that helps quite a bit actually. Thanks for the information, I thought the driverpack was giving me headaches. Thanks,Rich
mrjojo
Hi,I think you can choose beetwen 2 options in VMW for your sound card :1) By default, it emulates a Creative AudioPCI sound card2) However, you can "connect" the "false" card to your real sound card, choosing the right option in the settings of your virtual machine (I think you should click on the sound option in your vm settings, these 2 options are here)I didn't try yet, but I think it is you're looking for...
