Denney Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 Now that we can modify it, what exactally can we do?I've never really had a look into SYSSETUP.INF and I'm wondering if someone with a bit more experience with INF files could tell us what we could edit.
Alanoll Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 I sorted expected more...Just browsing through...I see it create StartMenu items....Which INFs to install (Components like IE)CAT files to registerASMS directory specifiedWhat Devies to Install....And definitions of what files should be copied over for a speicified type of install (Which aren't many, just specific files like AUTOEXEC.NT)
Denney Posted July 26, 2004 Author Posted July 26, 2004 I wonder if it's possible to remove the INF's of programs that you don't install... I know you can remove the contents of these files but it may make setup (slightly) faster by removing them. That way, setup doesn't have to open and parse them.I thought there would be more to. Does disabling the check in syssetup.dll open up any other possiblities of file to edit?
Alanoll Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 no idea, you'd have to ask Timo......perhaps layout.inf? I think that one is signed as well....
