help:problems with installing hp printer series!

i was tyring to install hp desket series 3500 to an updated xp pro OS, yet i met two kinds of problems bothe when i tried to use "control panel""add hardwares" and the purchased software cd to install it:

the system warned me to copy hpfmom.hlp file from c:\program files\hewlett-packard\hpz\glue\enu\drivers\com_lan.

after editting this file myself, the process went on but asked for another file hpzr3208.dll,and asked for more files which were not contained on the cd.

. i went to www.hp.com for support but found nothing cause this hp deskjet 3500 series was shold togethere with hp pc in a promotion in china.

what's wrong? did anyone have the same experience?

could anyone help me?

i've successfully installed hp 3500 series in this way:

0.disconnect the printer from the pc

1. reboot the pc after failure occured

2. delete all uncessary files

3.copy files from the cd to the hard disk

4.click "add hardware" via 'control panel",follow the instructions

5.reboot if installation is successful

i think this procedure will work for common printer installations!

thanks for all of you consistent help!
