mraeryceos Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Those settings you can't automate in the unattended media. These are my unattainables :- destroy "my documents" once and for all- always have box checked: advanced search options- no indexing service setting on files (no I don't want them to be ready to be indexed!)- auto arrange items on desktop- open unknown file formats with notepad, yet still have "open with" functionality- small icons in windows explorer and internet explorer (back, forward, up, folders, refresh, etc).If anyone has managed any of these, please respond.

svasutin Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Here's a thought,Install xp, however you normally do it.Export the registryMake all your changesExport your registry againThen apply windiff or whatever to track the changesThis should get you your registry tweaks. There are a few minor details, you might not want to add, but more less, its the idea.
mraeryceos Posted July 24, 2004 Author Posted July 24, 2004 svasutin, I actually did this, but I would track one change at a time because I want to know what each change is in the registry. It's not as easy as you think, cause there are a lot of changes made in the registry that are routine to the usage of the OS. You have no idea what these changes have to do with, but you know they are irrelevant to the change you want because they tend to show up no matter what you do.
