July 19, 200422 yr Trying to incorporate Shockwave and Flash players into my unattended win2k.I have signed up and downloaded the Corp versions (sw_pub.msi and Install Flash Player 7.msi).I can not get them to run from the cmdlines.txt successfully. I have other MSI apps that fun fine.I am using:"msiexec.exe /i c:\SW\sw_pub.msi""msiexec.exe /i c:\flash\Install Flash Player 7.msi"I have even tried to run the above from a .bat file in the cmdlines.txt. They run fine from windows with no / msi switches.Anyone else able to do this??S

July 20, 200422 yr Author I downloaded the exe version instead of the MSI one. Here is the syntax I used for silent installation.flashplayer7_winax.exe /qCool, seems to work on ME (yuck, I know) I will try it on Win2k and XP soon. Now what about the Shockwave installe. I do not want the Yahoo bar that installs with the stand alone version. That was the main reason I was going to use the MSIs. I could install them with the GUIrunonce but would not want to as a last resort.S
July 20, 200422 yr For the flash 7 application, try this thread:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=12263&hl=flash
July 20, 200422 yr quick question here... what is the difference between shockwave and flash? do i have to install both?most websites only requires having flash installed. i was wondering what websites or apps require the use of shockwave? The difference is they are 2 different types of content.I believe the difference is the Shockwave MSI, also installs flash. So install Shockwave if you want both, install Flash, if you just want Flash. Also, Unless they have updated it recently, the shockwave MSI is still version 8.5.1, not 10.
July 21, 200422 yr Does anyone have the direct link for the shockwave download? The above link is to the flash (http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_msi)Also, where do I go to sign up for the Corporate Versions downloads? I did this before but I can't remember where to do it on the Macromedia website.
July 22, 200422 yr @dcromwell: If you register here:http://www.macromedia.com/support/shockwave/info/licensing/you will get a mail with the link to both flash and shockwave msi's...
July 25, 200422 yr I went ahead and registered again. Here are the links Macromedia sent me...It contains the full versions of Flash and Shockwave.Click Here To DownloadEnjoy!EDIT: These files appear to be slightly older versions than the newest available (at least Flash does).
July 25, 200422 yr No, the flash version is up-to-date, Shockwave is not (only v8.x in that installer link above, latest is v10.x).
August 26, 200421 yr Within the past month, they changed the email you get when you register for the Flash and Shockwave Players Distribution Program (http://www.macromedia.com/support/shockwave/info/licensing/). It now includes links forCombined EXE Installer for Windows: Flash 7.0.19.0 and Shockwave 10.0.0.210 (not the latest version; does not include Yahoo toolbar)andCombined MSI Installer for Windows: Flash 7.0.19.0 and Shockwave 8.5.1as well as some links for Mac versions. Here is a thread on the Macromedia forums where a user states that MM said they plan to update the MSI version in the next release.-FF
