"Problems" with Word and IE

Until 2 weeks ago a link to a Word document in IE would open the document inside the browser. I am not sure what happened but now everytime I click on a link to a word document it shows briefly a message box saying it is downloading the document and continues opening the document in an instance of Word outside the browser.

Does anyone have any idea why the Word document would not open inside IE?

Any help is welcome.

hmm. .goto Tools > Options.. click into the general tab.. click Web Options and see if Target Browsers has IE selected..

I don't have that option listed. I am running Word 2000.
