angelfire1 Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Ok, I'm getting a little more fluent with making batch files and editing the answer file ect...however, I'm getting this error with my new unattended install in virtual pc...this particular image was made using a windows xp cd with sp1 already included:"File txtsetup.oem caused an unexpected error (18) at line 1742 in d:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c.Press any key to continue."...after continuing it loads the necessary files then it says "starting windows" in the lower lefthand corner, which is normal...then it stops and says:Windows XP Professional SetupThe manufacturer provided file that Setup is trying to use is corrupted or invalid:Line 1 contains a syntax errorSetup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3...any ideas on where I should look?...I'm sure it is related to something I did wrong during the long process of making an unattended install the way that you want it...thanks in advance!
angelfire1 Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 I think I found the problem for anyone who may have experienced the same thing...I computer I am testing the setup on does not have a raid controller like the machine I am making it for does...I took the info out of the .sif file and it's not working fine
