asus K8V SE Deluxe vocal post messages

Hi there,

I need some help if you can, I have just got a NEW K8V SE Deluxe mobo and an AMD64 3000 CPU.

But after setting it all up.....on boot up I am given the message.

"System failed CPU test"

I reseated the Cpu which was fine but got the same message.

I told Ebuyer (where i got the bits) and they said send the CPU back,

but is it that's whats wrong?

It sure sounds like a bad processor.

Of course I am assuming that you have properly attached a heatsink and fan using a good thermal compound or thermal pad??

BTW that is the exact setup I am running on my new gaming rig and I absolutely love it!!
