bearmos Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 hello everybody, I have an ASMS error in my setup. I've already looked at the "asm error" topic and it had a bunch of suggestions that i've already tried.I'm making two different unattended CD's, one for workgroups and one for a specific domain. The one for workgroups works without a hitch, the only difference between these CD's is some $OEM$ folder software (NAV managed and unmanaged) and one CD joins computers to the workgroup and one joins them to a domain. During the domain installation if i put in another CD during the 39 minutes to go phase it seems to work. I copied the ASMS folder from that CD onto the unattended one, but no luck. I also reburned the CD several times at 4x. . .that didn't work either. At this point I have no clue what could possibly be wrong. I've tried recopying the ASMS folder (from a CD that works) several times and burning new CD's. If anybody has any clue what I could be going wrong, please share so i can get this thing done -brian
GreenMachine Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 Hmmm. I've no time today ... but I will look into it post ASAP.
bearmos Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 i forgot to mention that I've tested the image with VMware several times and i get no errors, i think i might try another CD burner and see how that goes
bearmos Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 Must have been something weird with my CD burner, i burned the image with my Mac and all is well
GreenMachine Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Yes, those ASMS errors are almost always Hardware/Media related. The utility CDCHECK may spot the error.
