Crockerdile Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 I have Win XP home edition. I use Microsoft express for my e-mail. Up until two weeks ago everything was fine. Since then I cannot open any attachments that are sent with messages. I get a message window entitled "Invalid syntax error" and the message states..."This page cannot be displayed" and it says try a certain link having to do with system 32...but that link is no good either. My ISP denies culpability. I spent an hour chating with a tech at McAfee and have since removed McAfee Virus scan, just to help narrow down my options............and still I cannot open any attachments sent to my Outlook Express...be they text or pictures. What can I do?
albahrain Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 are u sure that the security of your outlook is not disabling the attachments?to make sure of that do the following on th outlook express:1- click on tools and go to options.2- from options select security.3- make sure that the (Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus) check box is not selected and if its just remove the tick form it and restart your outlook express.hope it will help.best wishes.
Crockerdile Posted June 30, 2004 Author Posted June 30, 2004 No, that is not the problem. That was one of the first thing I tried.
