jlamar Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 I am on the fourth generation of a windows xp pro cd with integrated patches, etc. Everything is fine except for if you want to setup RAID. I hit f6 during install, and it reads the driver, formats the drives, and then when it goes to start copying the sys file off the a: drive it says it cant read it. This has happened with several different systems. If I use a normal XP cd, it does read everything fine. what gives?
GreenMachine Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 No answer on the F6 method: I never use it. You might want to integrate the SATA/RAID drivers. Here are a few words on that ...http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm
my2001 Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 Here are even more words: methods to integrate device drivers, an overview
jlamar Posted June 30, 2004 Author Posted June 30, 2004 Yeah I know you can do that, but I was just trying to make the CD as universal as possible and to too specialized. It is fairly rare that I set up a system with RAID here at the college, so I'll just stick to doing it attended install for RAID.
Aaron Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 You can set OemPreinstall as No in winnt.sif if you want to use F6 to install your RAID drivers. Although you'll have to do some workarounds if you want your $OEM$ folder copied over - by using cmdlines.txt
