June 29, 200422 yr HiIn winnt.sif, I set [Display] BitsPerPel=16 Xresolution=1024 YResolution=768 Vrefresh=60but it shows up a resolution of 640*480*32what's wrong ?
June 29, 200422 yr That means WinXP does not have your display card's drivers in its install source. The solution is to integrate your display drivers into the install (through OEMpnpDrvrsPath in winnt.sif).Have a look at the official MSFN unattended guide here:http://unattended.msfn.org/
June 29, 200422 yr hi, the 640x480 is this during setup ?or while your in windows?if its during setup, this is normal, if its while your in windows, besure u have drivers installed for your cardregards
June 29, 200422 yr Author I do not want to include drivers. But, after finishing windows installation, without installing any driver, I can set manually resolution up to 1280*1024*32
June 29, 200422 yr Check the Video Resolution Changer here:http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/downloads.htmFor me it actually didn't work, but it is worth a shot.I search for a more general solution than the drivers solution (I'm creating those unattended CDs for installing on multiple computers with different configurations), but if you need the CD for one computer only it is the ultimate solution - please note that there is no oroblem in using the drivers-integrated cds for other computers - it just won't install the newly integrated drivers (thus having the resolution problem)
June 29, 200422 yr Author hi, the 640x480 is this during setup ?or while your in windows?if its during setup, this is normal, if its while your in windows, besure u have drivers installed for your cardregardsit is while i'am in windows
June 29, 200422 yr Author I'll try Video Resolution Changer, but it will take some time.I hope it will workThanks!
June 29, 200422 yr are you using an emulation software like VMware or Virtual PC ??If yes, when you will install your Windows in a real environment, it will work very well.(i had the same problem) it's because emulation softwares don't emulate the monitor, or something like that, i think. If your resolution problem appears in an real environment, so that another problem.
June 29, 200422 yr it's because emulation softwares don't emulate the monitor, or something like that, i think.thats correct, its because vmware doesnt use your video card's drivers 2 display its pic, it uses its own generic "fake" hardware, regards
June 29, 200422 yr Author I do not use VMware, i have another pc for testing.I think i made a mistake.i put the command line for Video Resolution Changer in winnt.sif[GuiRunOnce]1365VidChng.exe 1024x768x32@60 -q %systemdrive%\install\start.batand it gives an error.or should i put it in the batch file?
