bwesenberg Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 If anyone can help me I am at the end of my rope! I have two sets of users who are trying to use the delegate feature inOutlook 2002.The delegate is set up on the persons computer with editorpermissions. When the other person goes into the other users folder (inbox) andtries to forward a message from the other person folder it gives thefollowing error:You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of thespecified user.I have triple checked all settings and they are correct. I did notice that when the error came up it had the title of MicrosoftWord. So I disables Word at the default editor in outlook and tried again. Igot the same error message but in the title bar it said MicrosoftOutlook.I have test the same exact setting on a pair of test laptops andeverything works fine.I checked the versions for all comptuers who are having trouble andthey are all on Outlook 2002 SP2.ANY help you can give me would be GREAT!!Becky
dmarussi Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 this might be obvious but you never know... aside from giving delegate rights to the users, you still have to give permission to whatever folder you are trying to share. for example if you are trying to share out a particular inbox, you have to go to the properties of that inbox, permissions, and assign rights for whoever will be accessing it. again, this might be way obvious but you didn't mention doing that so i figured i'll throw it out there...
