Shutdown WinPE?

Featured Replies

I have used Cubie's instructions to create a Windows PE with Explorer.

( http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=15709 )

However, I am unable to get the Shutdown or Log Off buttons to do anything? (well, the Shutdown pulls up the "shut down"/"restart" window, but that's it...)

Does anyone know how to set any and/or all of these options to re-boot the computer?

( I have currently got the Windows ResKit "Shutdown" program listed in Start menu "Shutdown.exe -t 3" )

I am also having a problem with Shortcuts placed in the "Default Desktop" folder... They are being duplicated, and Windows comes back "Cannot run ...win32program.pif" I'm trying to run the exe, not the PIF link!

Why does PE think the PIF file is an EXE?

Regards,

Michael Patten

Fixed problem with PIF Files.

- Copied existing links such as "Notepad" from the Start Menu.

I've also added the following Reg Keys to remove the "Recent Docs" and "Favs" from the start menu;

[HKLM\PE_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer]

"NoRecentDocsMenu"=dword:00000001

"NoFavoritesMenu"=dword:00000001

(Attach to the Windows PE "System Hive" as "HKLM\PE_SOFTWARE" ! )

Michael.
