TomoDaK Posted June 20, 2004 Posted June 20, 2004 I'm planning on getting a Athlon 64 3000+, a new mobo for it, and a X800 Pro . I was wondering what motherboard you guys would suggest, currently I'm looking at the Abit KV8 Pro (the beta bios fixes the agp/pci locks not workign and I'm sure I can get this off the net somewhere) or the Epox Epox EP-8KDA3J. Which would you guys reccomend or maybe you even have a different one to suggest. Also, I may get a WD Raptor 37.6 in which case I will need a new PSU since my current one doesn't have the SATA power cables or is there an adapter for the current molex connectors (I'd assume there is oddly enough I have checked to see if they exist). Also for a heatsink I'm looking at the SLK-948U or the Alpha 8150, which one would you reccomend or maybe you have another heatsink I could try (not ready to dish out for water yetand I'd be worried abotu taking it to lans and crap if I had water cooling). Here's my 2nd thing. I'm gonna sell some of my current hardware - my Barton 2500+ which reaches 2.35ghz @ 1.875 (420fsb max, but that's my mobos fault I believe (haven't tried it in another mobo 2 prove that yet), Epox 8rda+ 1.1 with C1/Ultra400 stuff so it can do 400+ FSB (has a copper zalman nb heatsink although some pins are bent as I had to make room for my SLK900A ), and a Sapphire 9500np which succesfully softmods (makes it a 9700np) and overclocks to 378/294 (too bad I got the bad inf 3.3ns ram =/). How much would you guys suggest selling it for and do you think I should sell the cpu, mobo, and hs as one package or as seperate items. One last thing would you reccomend sellingit any palce besides ebay, right now I'm just gonna use ebay, because I know there's lots of not so smart people that are willing to overpay for things like my old hardware Thanks guys!
