Squeeze Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 I made my unattended install cd. I started it up, and it stopped at the "Installing Windows" part. The exact error is...The file 'asms' on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 CD is needed.Type the path where the file is located, and then click OK.I've read the required MS KB article, but when i push Shift+F10, and type regedit.exe I get this error...The system cannot execute the specified program.I put in the original OS CD, and pointed the path to where the asms folder is, and it wont work still. The only problem I can think of, is in my WINNT.sif file on my unattended install CD, I only have the name for my SATA RAID HD, as 'OEM', and I dont have any IDE controllers as 'Retail'. Here is what my Winnt.sif looks like.[Data]AutoPartition=0MsDosInitiated="0"UnattendedInstall="Yes"[Unattended]ActivateProxy=ProxyAutoActivate=YesDriverSigningPolicy=IgnoreOemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\Gigabyte"OemPreinstall=YesUnattendMode=FullUnattendedUnattendSwitch="yes"OemSkipEula=YesTargetPath=\WINDOWSWaitForReboot=No[OEMBootFiles]TXTSETUP.OEMIASTOR.CATIASTOR.INFIASTOR.SYS[MassStorageDrivers]"Intel(R) 82801ER SATA RAID Controller" = "OEM"[GuiUnattended]AdminPassword=*EncryptedAdminPassword=NOOEMSkipRegional=1TimeZone=3OemSkipWelcome=1[UserData]ProductKey=12345-67890-abcde-fghijFullName="me"OrgName=""ComputerName=Squeeze[Display]BitsPerPel=32Xresolution=1280Yresolution=1024[Identification]JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP[Networking]InstallDefaultComponents=Yes[Components]Accessopt=offAutoUpdate=offClipbook=offdeskpaper=offdialer=offfax=off freecell=offfp_extensions=on hearts=offhypertrm=offiis_common=oniis_inetmgr=on iis_www=oniisdbg=onmedia_clips=off media_utopia=off;minesweeper=off;msmsgs=offmsnexplr=off netoc=offpinball=off rec=on solitaire=offspider=off templates=off vol=on zonegames=off[Shell]DefaultStartPanelOff = YesI started the formatting of a full install from an original CD, then I got called into work. So i'm 99% sure its gonna be able to get back up and running. What I think the problem is, is my [MassStorageDrivers] section, I think I need the device name for my IDE cdrom drive. Can someone verify this for me? Or point me in the right direction?I used Pure Krome's method Here
Alanoll Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 I have this problem on my Multiboot DVDs sometimes. It's usally the result of bad medium (bad disc) or bad burn, or some hardware.I've been meaning to do some tests with different CDIMAGE arguments, as I don't use the standard ones most people do.
