Hi, many times it has happened that the ppl i install windows for already have a key of their own (legit) ofcource.. so wht then i have to do is change the registry and re run oobe, what i was thinking was that can there be an option to reset the activation on demand so that after installation it asks us ehether to enter our orignal key...

But there a catch with this, i'v encountered many legit keys that wont work with my installed sources, i dunno if its retail or vlk or what ever, so that becomes a real problem sometimes....

So, what i want is that i give the user to enter his key, but if that fails... then i renter my current registration info again, so it still works...

Anyone got any ideas how to do this ?

BYe,

Jazz

Try looking up SysPrep in the MSFN forum...

this is the OEM tool that is required to be run, prior to delivering the computer to the customer.

It can reset the security ID's, Product Code/Key & more....

This is almost certainly what you need to research and learn how to use...I suggest trying it out on a test machine after you have installed XP the way you usually do in order to see how it works :)

Good luck,

Nathan.
