I have installed win2k on a 2GB Compact Flash card. I am using a single board computer that uses CF on the IDE channel. It is a little slower than a hard drive, but I have seen no problems after it is installed. There is a question of how stable it is over the long term.

There is a strange issue; the win2k install hangs if it sees a partition on the card. This is very annoying when the boot files corrupt and you cannot perform the "repair" option of the install disk.

If anyone has an idea how to get around this, I would love to hear it.

You could get around it with ghost if the CF is seen by the bios as a drive....

Create an 2GB partition on you hdd, install the os and files, then ghost it to the card...

In theory it should work....

Let us know if it does !
