Alterego Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 I need help on sharing a folder with the host PC.I installed Virtual PC 2004 on a Win2Ksp4 host machine.Virtual machine runs WinME and is of use to execute an old MS-DOS program essential for my job!!!This program is LogicMaster 90, for GE-Fanuc Programmable Logic Control, for who knows about it...It can't run correctly under Win2K, that I need for others reasons: this is why I installed Virtual PC.The problem is the MS-DOS program can't see correctly the shared directory. For example, if I share the host directory c:\SR\ as E: in the virtual machine, the MS-DOS program can see E:\, but isn't able to browse the subdirectories! Any suggestion? Many thanks.Marco
Alterego Posted May 12, 2004 Author Posted May 12, 2004 Furthermore, also the WinME explorer can't browse the E: virtual drive unit subdirectories!!!Maybe it's a problem of ME OS, isn't it?Should I try with a WinME patch? If yes, which one?
LiquidSage Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 you can mount the partition with your dir. as a virtual hard disk. ME will see it as nothing more than a plain hd.
Alterego Posted May 14, 2004 Author Posted May 14, 2004 I talked to others Virtual PC users, and I've seen this is a well known problem.Hope Microsoft will fix it in next releases and updates.By the way, I solved connecting host folder to be shared as network unit. Many thanks to you all.Marco
