after using unattended windows installer my pc-cilling shortcuts on the start menu are all in the format of $$link1$$ any ideas

I can't say for sure, since I don't own the product....but I've seen similar things from other products. The correct names are held in a transform (MST), did one come with the product? Usually, it would be a different one for each language.

Such as 1033.mst, etc. Installing with the proper transform would correct the problem. Such as "productinstall.msi TRANSFORMS=transformname.MST"

hi,

a workaround would be to delete the bad links wie a .cmd and then recreate them with shortcut.exe found here on the forums...

ok found out what the problem is, the bad are links are built into the msi installer just need to rebuild with some good links thanks guys
