how do i avoid webpages not loading correctly/fully and getting the white box with red x? i've enabled all the controls under properties...but thats all i know to do,i'm sure theres more and once again i apologize for a "stupid" post.

Are you sure it's not a webpage with one big picture on it? To make sure right-click on the white box. If there is an option to "Show Picture" then it's not Active X, but the pictures that are at fault.

Check other websites to see if other pictures load. If they do load then it's that particular website you are visiting that is incorrect. If other pictures aren't showing then you can enable pictures.

I am assuming you are using IE. Go to Tools | Internet Options. Click the Advanced Tab. Scroll down the list until you reach the Multimedia section. under the Multimedia Section make sure the "Show pictures" option is checked.
